SANCERRE 'LE GRALL' VINCENT GRALL 2023 DESCRIPTION

Sancerre 'Le Grall' is a Loire Sauvignon Blanc with a rich and complex style, an expression of producer Vincent Grall's savoir-faire. In particular, for the label that bears his name, Vincent brings together grapes from the best and oldest plots of land on the estate, processed with the knowledge and experience of someone who has been dedicated to winemaking for over 30 years. In fact, Vincent comes from a family of winegrowers and for 10 years he supported his uncles in their wine business, while at the same time beginning to plant a few vineyards of his own. In 2000, he then decided to take the plunge and devote himself full-time to his own business.

Vincent Grall's 'Le Grall' Sancerre originates from pure Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown on soils characterised by a high presence of clay and flint. The vines are over 30 years old and enjoy a full southern exposure. Manual harvesting is followed by careful selection of the grapes and then white vinification. This is done through soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation of the must in thermoregulated 2,000-litre wooden vats, the same wine containers where the liquid remains to mature for more than 6 months until final bottling, which takes place in very limited quantities.

In the glass, Vincent Grall's Sancerre Blanc 'Le Grall' shows a brilliant straw yellow colour with faint greenish reflections. Fascinating aromas of pineapple, lychee, grapefruit, elderflower and flint present the complex aromatic bouquet, combined with varietal hints of tomato leaf and notes of vanilla from the passage in wood. In the mouth it is rich and balanced, with a dynamic and refined progression that rests on fresh fruity and mineral sensations.
