Tenuta La Novella's Sangiovese 'Sambrena' is a fresh, almost citric version of Tuscany's princely grape variety. Part of the grapes retain their stalks during fermentation to give great structure to the sip. Red fruit and slight hints of orange peel entice the sip, in the mouth it has a delicate structure and intense freshness. A wine with a gastronomic vocation, try it with pici pasta with ragout sauce
Tenuta La Novella's Sangiovese 'Sambrena' is afresh, crisp expression of Tuscany's most important grape variety, presented in an extraordinarily dynamic drinking version. Located in Greve in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico production area, Tenuta La Novella has 188 hectares of property, of which just over 13 are occupied by vineyards, 20 by olive groves and the remainder by woods, in a context of rich biodiversity.
Sangiovese Tenuta La Novella 'Sambrena' is produced from pure Sangiovese grapes cultivated in accordance with the dictates of organic farming and biodynamics on clay-limestone soils. The vines have an average age of 12 years and are located at a high altitude of 500 metres above sea level. Harvesting is carried out strictly by hand at a slightly early stage in order to enhance the freshness of the fruit, combined with careful grape selection. This is followed by red vinification in cement tanks with 30% whole bunches, with alcoholic fermentation entrusted exclusively to the yeasts present on the grapes and in the cellar environment. The subsequent ageing phase takes place in a combination of cement and stoneware containers, in which the wine remains for 10 months until final bottling, which is carried out without prior clarification.
Tenuta La Novella's 'Sambrena' Sangiovese has a ruby red colour with purple highlights. The nose presents itself with immediate hints of small red fruits such as cherries, soon joined by hints of undergrowth and subtle citrus hints. Very fresh and juicy on the palate, endowed with soft tannins that anticipate the suave and fragrant finish, characterised by fine returns of red fruits.
