Planeta's Santa Cecilia is a pure Nero d'Avola representing one of the most important reds from the famous Sicilian winery. The grapes come from the classic and most vocated area for the vine: La Valle di Noto. High-quality grapes and a long ageing in wood allow obtaining an elegant and very intense expressive expression. Classic aromas of red fruit and soft spices are enriched by notes of tertiary evolution of great finesse, making the sip complex and harmonious.
Nero d'Avola Santa Cecilia is the child of a great Sicilian winery's desire to create a wine symbolic of the Noto area, capable of establishing itself as one of the best expressions of the entire area. Planeta chose a historic vineyard, not coincidentally known by the name "Buonivini," to create a label that would become a point of reference for all enthusiasts. Although today it is cultivated throughout the island, the Noto Valley is not only the original cradle of this grape but also the area where it expresses itself with greater finesse and elegance since it has poor soils and is affected by a dry and windy climate. Thanks to these special attentions, the Planeta winery has succeeded and made a wine capable of representing the authentic scents and flavours of Sicily.
Nero d'Avola Planeta is a label that confirms the value of the lands of Noto for producing great red wines. The grapes come from a particularly suitable parcel characterized by white soils of limestone and sand. At the end of the classic red vinification with maceration on the skins, it matures for 12 months in French oak barriques, one third new and the rest second or third passage. In the goblet, it is rather an intense ruby red in colour. The aromas are reminiscent of small berries, cherry, blueberry, and blackberry, with hints of soft spices and balsamic and herbal nuances. The sip is enveloping and rich, with persistent, complex aromas and a fresh, harmonious finish. An excellent expression of the lands of Noto.
