'StorLond' Tropfltalhof

The Tropfltalhof's "StorLond" is an intense red wine, produced by an estate that follows the principles of biodynamics, with minimal intervention in the vineyard and cellar. Andreas, the winemaker, has decided to work holistically near Lake Kaltern, seeking harmony between the farm animals and the vines. The result is quality handcrafted wines like this one. The nose reveals red fruits, citrus and dried flowers, followed by spices like pepper and hints of eucalyptus. The sip is enveloping, with great intensity and flavor, with an intriguing balsamic finish that adds complexity

'STORLOND' TROPFLTALHOF DESCRIPTION

Tröpfltalhof's "StorLond" red is a product of a South Tyrolean winery located near Lake Caldaro, a vocation for producing quality wines. The winery is the result of an ambitious and avant-garde project of Andreas Dichristis, who, in early 1990, began cultivating his three hectares of land, shortly afterwards following the principles of biodynamic agriculture, following a holistic approach, he turned his attention to observing the natural growth and development phases of plants and raw material. His business is a virtuous example of a circular economy with a closed supply chain since Andreas is also dedicated to raising grazing animals and growing grains such as spelt and corn, the latter also used as animal feed. The very animals have the function of strengthening a deep synergistic balance with the environment.

Tröpfltalhof's "StorLond" grapes grow in a small vineyard with vines over 20 years old. The soil here consists mainly of river gravel, and the climate is sunny for most of the year, ensuring perfect ripeness for the grapes at harvest time. The altitude is about 300 meters above sea level, and the soil is constantly tended by organic compost and phytotherapeutic preparations of biodynamic origin. Harvesting is by hand; in the cellar, it ferments spontaneously thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts and stays 4 weeks on the skins. It is bottled without any filtration or clarification and remains a few months in the bottle before being put on the market.

To the eye, Tröpfltalhof's red wine "StorLond" is a perfect ruby red with garnet-tinged highlights of great intensity. The bouquet of aromas is reminiscent of ripe plums and cherries, and berries in combination with notes of red orange and balsamic and mineral nuances; in the mouth, it is pleasantly fresh with a good tannic structure and a long balsamic and savoury finish that entices glass after glass. It pairs perfectly with mixed sliced meats of medium seasoning and overcooked red meat; it is also interesting with aged cow's and sheep's milk cheeses and white meats. Perfect for the family holiday table for celebrations or anniversaries, sipping a product reminiscent of the essentiality of grape juice and a range of flavours characteristic of the land of origin.
