TORCOLATO DI BREGANZE MACULAN 2021 - 75CL DESCRIPTION

The Torcolato Breganze by Maculan is one of those wines that impress with their intense bouquet that is able to offer; notes of honey blend perfectly with the floral, vanilla and the noble wood. In an enchanting village, Breganze, to three generations Maculan select wine from the best grapes, giving wines unique flavor, intensity and structure. Today the cellar Maculan is one of the biggest names in the Veneto and is the true ambassador in Italy and in the World of Torcolato Breganze; we are faced with a wonderful sweet white dessert that is produced in a very small area of the province of Vicenza: 15 km of vineyards set in the history and traditions of Marostica, Bassano del Grappa and Thiene. Produced from grapes Vespaiola, Torcolato is known since 1610, when tell us that the name of the wine originates from the ancient practice which was vinified: the grapes are harvested, they were left to dry in the cellars or attics, and to save space, were hanging from the rafters and twisted (torcolate, in the local dialect) with the strings. Today, the drying takes a little over three months, but takes place in the loft, while the refinement continues in French oak barrels for 1/3 new and 2/3 of a second step. The Torcolato Breganze by Maculan appears in the eyes with a nice bright yellow and gold and stunning for the intense bouquet of honey, flowers, vanilla and precious woods. The taste is sweet and full, and blends perfectly with the sweetness and freshness. The final residual sugar of 155 g/l makes it perfect as a dessert wine, excellent with small pastries, both as a wine pairing in mature cheese such as Asiago Stravecchio or blue cheeses.
