Box 'Tradizione' Sella e Mosca

'Tradition' is the box set of labels from the Sardinian winery Sella e Mosca, capable of transporting us to white beaches or red lands without moving a step from home. The fragrances and aromas of a land kissed by the sun and the sea are synthesised by these classic creations, poised between island tradition and French history, local varieties and big world names.

The "Box Tradition" is composed of some great classics from the Sella e Mosca winery, in an interesting mix of native and international varieties. "Terre Bianche Cuvée 161" represents the highest expression of the house Torbato: this indigenous grape blends its ancient character with the peculiarities of the thousand-year-old soils of marine origin. Part of the fermentation takes place in barriques, just as the long ageing on the fine lees is divided between steel vats and oak wood: the result is a structured and complex white wine, with golden hues and aromas of Mediterranean scrub, spicy tones and salty hints of the sea. "Parallel 41", on the other hand, is the perfect marriage of Torbato and Sauvignon Blanc, capable of an intense perfume rich in floral and exotic fruit hints, with a soft and enveloping flavour: the two vinifications ferment in new French oak barriques and age partly in steel and partly in second and third passage barriques. The name indicates the line that ideally unites Alghero and Barcelona: two cities actually linked by history and the Catalan language and culture. "Tanca Farrà", finally, is a total expression in red: it comes from strong red clay and iron-rich soil, exposed to sun and wind. It represents the union of decisive and elegant characters: Cabernet Sauvignon and Cannonau are aged for 13 months in barriques of several passages and in large casks, resulting in a rich, dry and harmonious blend with a persuasive structure.

The Tradition Box expresses the character of that north-western corner of Sardinia where the Sella e Mosca winery has its roots, combined with the most skilfully contemporary ideas of winemaking, in which the use of wood demonstrates the evolutionary and aromatic potential of local grapes.
