Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Bossanova 2022

Trebbiano Abruzzo by Bossanova winery is an Abruzzo white wine from the Teramo hills, macerated briefly on the skins and aged for about 9 months in concrete vats: it expresses aromas of hay and chamomile, yellow-fleshed fruit and hints of sage, while on the sip it is harmonious, taut and of excellent freshness, embellished with mineral tones and an intriguing sapid persistence

TREBBIANO D'ABRUZZO BOSSANOVA 2022 DESCRIPTION

Bossanova's Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is an artisanal wine with a frank and direct character, made by a small wine cellar in Abruzzo, which has made a name for itself on the regional scene for quality production. Underlying the project is a great love for the land, which translates into environmentally friendly vineyard management and winemaking conducted with minimal human intervention. This white wine restores the ancient and authentic taste of this vine with a strong personality, capable of expressing fresh and fruity wines, but also with good ageing potential, with interesting tertiary evolutions of aromas.

The white Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is the result of the desire of two enthusiasts to dedicate themselves to the vineyard to produce healthy, genuine wines. Bossanova runs an estate of 4 hectares located in the Abruzzo hinterland. The area is particularly well suited, enjoying the cool continental climate of the Abruzzo Apennines and the mild, Mediterranean influences of the Adriatic coast. The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo vines have an average age of 40 years and are cultivated in Controguerra, at an altitude of 230 metres above sea level, with a sunny south-westerly exposure. Vinification is carried out by fermenting the free-run juice, adding 20 per cent of whole bunches. The process takes place spontaneously, using only indigenous yeasts, without the addition of sulphites or additives. The wine matures for 9 months in vitrified cement vats and ends its ageing period with 3 months in the bottle.

The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Bossanova wine perfectly represents the varietal character of the grape variety, with a strong, intense and incisive personality. It is a well-structured white wine that demonstrates remarkable ductility at the table. It can be paired with savoury seafood dishes, white meats and semi-mature cheeses. In the glass, it has a bright, brilliant straw yellow colour. The nose expresses scents of wildflowers, fragrant aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, hints of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean maquis, officinal herbs and balsamic herbs. The palate is full-bodied, rich and deep, with fruity aromas and a pleasant sapid vein. The finish is long, fresh, taut and vibrant.
