'ADARMANDO' TABARRINI 2021 DESCRIPTION

The Tabarrini winery has always cherished a dream: that of creating a great white wine in a terroir where it is the reds that take center stage. An ambitious desire, which thanks to Giampaolo's great vision became a reality, thanks to the rediscovery of a typical Umbrian grape variety, Trebbiano Spoletino. The "Adarmando" is a white of great depth, combining a varied array of aromas with a fresh sip where sapidity is the key to a remarkable persistence. A bottle that Giampaolo dedicates to Armando, his grandfather, with a strong and unyielding character, just like this Umbria IGT, which portrays the Montefalco territory in a new and intriguing guise.

Tabarrini produces Adarmando from a grape variety indigenous to the area, Trebbiano Spoletino, coming from old vines that are still free-standing and whose age reaches nearly ninety years. The vineyards, located about 350 meters above sea level and facing southeast, are rooted in soil characterized by a silty, clayey subsoil. The grapes, after harvest, ferment in steel tanks thanks to the use of indigenous yeasts, and here they remain for about 12 months to age; then follows the bottling phase, at the end of which the wine matures directly in glass for another 9 months.

The "Adarmando" is a white wine that, in the glass, shows off a straw-yellow color, crossed by light golden reflections. The nose reveals itself with a perfect symphony of complex and layered aromas, moving ffrom fruity and floral hints to brackish and herbal nuances. On the palate it is ample, voluminous, with a temperamental sip, characterized by a savory streak and a pleasant freshness; it ends with a lingering finish, characterized by a mineral aftertaste. A balanced and truly satisfying bottle, which shows off the great quality of Tabarrini's products.
