AMARONE CLASSICO 'VAIO ARMARON' MASI 2016 DESCRIPTION

Masi's "Vaio Armaron" is an Amarone of tradition, sublimated by the excellence of its qualities of complexity and vigour. It is a red of backbone, taste, structure and infinite olfactory breadth. It belongs to Masi's signature Serego Alighieri line, a name that has significantly contributed to writing the history of Amarone as a symbol of Valpolicella oenology.

Masi Serego Alighieri "Vaio Armaron" is made from one of the grape blends that traditionally make up Amarone, defined by 65 percent Corvina, 20 percent Rondinella and 15 percent Molinara. These grapes come from Masi's historic estate vineyard, the "Vaio Armaron" vineyard. Meticulous attention is devoted to the field and its processing, allowing us to arrive at harvest time with full health and quality grapes. After being selected and harvested, the grapes are left to dry for about 120 days in the winery's ancient fruit cellars. The continuation of winemaking is carried out in such a way as to enhance the complexity of the grapes; therefore, the ageing phase takes place in wood for quite a long time: the first 36 months inside Slavonian oak barrels and another 4 months in cherry barrels.

"Vaio Armaron" Masi shows a ruby red colour endowed with great intensity. The bouquet is articulated and highlights many nuances traceable to fruity, floral, toasted and spicy aromas: in fact, hints of blueberry, cherry, plum, violet, chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla can be recognized, with an echo of light balsamic hints. The palate confirms its complexity in a soft, warm, fresh, and snappy mouthfeel. It enters the mouth with a suave caress, further tamed by silky tannins. "Vaio Armaron" is a classy wine that evokes the traditional spirit of Valpolicella.
