FRANCIACORTA 'ALMA NON DOSATO ASSEMBLAGE 1' BELLAVISTA DESCRIPTION

The Franciacorta 'Alma Non Dosato Assemblage 1' from the Bellavista sparkling wine house represents ataut and energetic expression of the Franciacorta terroir, interpreted through the winery's expert know-how. The 'Alma Assemblage 1' Collection is one of the latest additions to the Bellavista house, presented in the autumn of 2024 by Francesca Moretti together with Richard Geoffroy, Dom Perignon's chef de cave for 28 years and now a consultant to Bellavista, with the aim of revealing the appellation's full winemaking potential. These labels, the result of an assemblage of numerous vineyards, replace the 'Alma Grande Cuvée' line, marking a glorious new chapter for the house bubbles.

Bellavista's Franciacorta 'Alma Non Dosato Assemblage 1' is made from a blend of Chardonnay (76%) and Pinot Noir (24%) grapes from 30 main vineyards in the Franciacorta region. After harvesting, carried out entirely by hand in small crates, the grapes are vinified using the white wine method with soft pressing and vinification between stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, the latter containers in which around 30% of the wine remains to mature. A percentage of reserve wine from the previous vintage is then added to the vintage wine before it is bottled according to the Metodo Classico. Maturation on the lees then continues for at least 30 months until disgorgement and subsequent topping up with the same wine, thus without any dosage.

To the eye, the Franciacorta Bellavista 'Alma Non Dosage Assemblage 1' shows a beautiful bright straw yellow colour with persistent, creamy bubbles. The nose offers hints of citrus fruits that combine with floral fragrances and hints of Mediterranean herbs, all supported by spicy and pastry sensations. The palate is energetic and taut, refined and assertive, balancing freshness and ripeness of the fruit, with a dry finish that draws out the long final persistence.
