Pietracupa's Greco is a white wine from Campania that is vinified only in steel. The sip is characterized by a vibrant freshness and a pleasant, flowing texture, enriched by citrus, savory and mineral aromas, with pleasant herbaceous nuances
Pietracupa Greco is configured as a Campania white wine adept at combining expressive richness and dynamic smoothness, also endowed with excellent value for money. We are in the town of Montefredane, in the province of Avellino, where in the early 1970s, Peppino Loffredo took over a vineyard estate with the intention of producing Fiano for himself and his friends. The turning point came in the 1990s with his son Sabino, who was strongly intent on elevating the quality of production in the wake of the world's great white wines, focusing mainly on the indigenous Fiano and Greco grape varieties. Through these grapes, Pietracupa interprets the strong mineral component of the terroir with admirable mastery.
Pietracupa's Greco di Pietracupa is made from only Greco grapes grown in a cool climate on volcanic soil rich in minerals. Following harvest, the clusters undergo gentle pressing, and the must is then conveyed into stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation. Thereafter, the mass matures in the same type of wine containers for several months before final bottling so as to safeguard intact freshness and varietal expression.
The colour of Pietracupa Greco is deep straw yellow with golden hues. The aromatic range opens on vivid hints of yellow-fleshed fruit and citrus fruits, soon joined by nect and pleasant mineral puffs, with delicate herbaceous nuances in the background. In the mouth, it is intense, balanced and flowing, with a lively fresh-sappy verve that preludes the fruity and mineral epilogue of remarkable taste-olfactory correspondence. Thanks to its dynamic and territorial character, this Greco is an ideal match for seafood dishes of Campania's culinary tradition, such as spaghetti with clams.
