Domaine Vincent Wengier is a purely white wine estate nestled in the territory of Chablis, in the northernmost part of Burgundy. Vincent, who represents the fourth oenological generation of the Wengier family, which has been in the wine business since 1950, has dedicated himself to wine production for 20 years, only beginning to bottle and market his first labels under his own name in 2018. The winery is located precisely in the commune of Préhy, south of the village of Chablis, a place where Vincent and his wife Sophie devote themselves to winemaking while respecting the environment and biodiversity, adopting sustainable agronomic practices.
Domaine Vincent Wengier cultivates 26 hectares of vineyards, almost entirely dedicated to the white grape varieties Chardonnay and Aligoté, with a small percentage of Pinot Noir to complement them. The vines are cultivated according to organic farming principles, certified from the 2023 harvest, on Kimmeridgian soils rich in clay, limestone and marine fossils. After the harvest, which is carried out with the aid of state-of-the-art machines, the grapes are immediately pressed, so as to prevent oxidation or unwanted maceration. The must is then clarified through the use of cold before alcoholic fermentation, a process that takes place slowly and gradually in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks. This is followed by malolactic fermentation, sought to give the wine greater roundness. Once the fermentation processes are complete, the wine matures in steel for 8-10 months on the fine lees, enriching itself with aromas and increasing its structure.
The production of Domaine Vincent Wengier falls within the AOCs of Chablis, Petit Chablis, Bourgogne Chardonnay and Bourgogne Aligoté, for an exclusively white production. These are fresh and mineral expressions, with excellent balance, as well as fluidity and agility of taste.
