MOSCATO D'ASTI LA CAUDRINA 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Moscato d'Asti of the La Caudrina production reality is a fragrant and balanced expression, an authentic manifestation of this famous Piedmontese appellation. After decades in which Redento Dogliotti was engaged in selling the musts he produced to the large Moscato d'Asti industry, the turning point for the family estate came in the late 1970s with his son Romano, who began making wine on his own from the most suitable vineyards and bottling under his own name, immediately meeting with great success. Thus was born Moscato d'Asti La Caudrina, the estate's label symbol, the first ever made by the winery.

Caudrina Moscato d'Asti is made from only Moscato Bianco grapes grown on marly-calcareous matrix soils 280 meters above sea level. The grapes are harvested strictly by hand and then immediately soft-pressed, with the resulting must undergoing clarification and filtration in order to obtain a brilliant liquid. The mass is kept in cold storage until fermentation, which takes place in autoclaves at a controlled temperature using selected yeasts. Vinification and bottling are carried out under isobaric conditions so as to preserve the wine's vivacity.

To the eye, Romano Dogliotti's Moscato d'Asti La Caudrina has a deep straw-yellow hue. The aromatic nose offers delicate floral nuances, alternating with notes of candied citrus and aromatic herbs. In the mouth, it is appropriately sweet, fresh and drinkable, with a faint effervescence that anticipates closure of good persistence. As is customary for the type, we suggest enjoying this sweet wine in its youth, perhaps during the holiday season, as an accompaniment to classic pandoro and panettone.
