Barbaresco Bruno Rocca 2021

The Barbaresco from the important family-run winery Bruno Rocca is a balanced and structured label, qualities that also make this wine suitable to be enjoyed in its youth, although it is capable of sustaining many years of bottle ageing. The style of the Rocca family is aimed at respect for tradition and is guided by values such as passion and knowledge of the land, recognising the vineyard as the fundamental ingredient of a great wine. This gives rise to authentic expressions of terroir that with their elegance and breadth have managed to win over fans and national and international wine critics.
Bruno Rocca Barbaresco is a 100% Nebbiolo from vineyards rooted in clay and limestone soils, also characterised by the presence of tuff and sandy veins. The manual harvest and initial selection of the bunches in the vineyard is followed by a second sorting in the cellar, with the grapes then placed in stainless steel tanks for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation, accompanied by 20-25 days of maceration on the skins. Once the fermentation process is complete, the liquid is decanted into oak barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place spontaneously and the wine is aged for about 12 months before bottling and further resting in glass.
The colour of Bruno Rocca's Barbaresco is an intense and brilliant garnet red. A complex and refined olfactory range, evoking scents of black fruits such as blackberry, plum and black cherry, with a finish reminiscent of spices, tobacco and dried flowers. In the mouth it is warm and enveloping, fresh and elegant, with a pleasant tannic texture that guides the beautifully persistent finish. This Barbaresco is a natural companion for main courses of red meats or game, such as stews or roasts with a brown base.
