Vermut Orange is an artisanal wine produced in the south-east of Sicily by Azienda Agricola Naturale from a base of Moscato grapes. The Naturale project stems from the desire of the founders Simone Sabaini and Giusto Occhipinti, well-known names in the Sicilian food and wine world, to offer a line of aromatised wines elaborated through artisanal practices using only ingredients of organic origin.
Azienda Agricola Naturale Vermut Orange is made from only Moscato grapes grown according to organic farming principles on soils rich in limestone, silica, clay and tuff. After a drying phase on the vine, the freshly harvested grapes are transferred to the cellar for alcoholic fermentation carried out using only indigenous yeasts and accompanied by a few days of contact between the must and the skins. During the maceration phase, daily manual punching-down and pumping-over is carried out in order to obtain a delicate extraction of the noblest compounds. Then, following an appropriate period of maturation, the wine is infused with organic botanicals and then sugar and water are added before bottling.
On visual inspection, the Orange Vermouth of Azienda Agricola Naturale has an amber-yellow colour with beautiful coppery hues. The olfactory range is fruity and floral in its sweet and aromatic scents of dried apricot, candied citron and jasmine, enhanced by hints of honey and Mediterranean herbs. The taste is rich and enveloping, with a persistent fruity and spicy finish. Vermut Orange is an original macerated Muscat Vermouth able to surprise with its very pleasant aromatic vein.
