CHARDONNAY 'CIAMPAGNIS' VIE DI ROMANS 2022 DESCRIPTION

The "Ciampagnis" Chardonnay is a wine that brings with it the beauty of the Friulian Isonzo area, within which the Vie di Romans winery, a family-run production reality led by Gianfranco, soul and heart of production for the past forty years, has operated for more than a hundred years. A bottle where fruity aromas dominate, opening to a savoury drink, very smooth in the tasting phase. Try it with a fish menu to indulge in an evening of great satisfaction under the banner of an excellent Friulian white.

"Ciampagnis" is a Chardonnay that comes from the eponymous grapes of the international variety, used in purity by the Vie di Romans winery team. The vines of this variety grow within shallow soils, characterized by a typically reddish colour due to the presence of iron and aluminium oxides. The grapes, carefully selected to ensure only the best of the terroir of origin, alcoholically ferment in steel containers, where they then continue ageing on the lees for 8 months. At the end of this period, bottling operations begin, and the wine remains to mature in glass for another 11 months before release.

Vie di Romans "Ciampagnis" is a Chardonnay that, in the glass, announces itself with a pleasant golden colour. The range of aromas that envelops the nose tells of compelling aromas, where floral notes, intense, mingle with hints of white-fleshed fruit and citrus. The palate is medium-bodied, without smearing, with a sip marked by a beautiful savoury streak. Yet another gem made by the Friuli-based Vie di Romans winery, on which the leading Italian and international wine magazines have no difficulty converging with truly noteworthy scores.
