GRILLO 'I GRAPPOLI DEL GRILLO' DE BARTOLI 2022 DESCRIPTION

The Grappoli del Grillo is the first white wine that Marco De Bartoli decides to produce. We are in 1990 when this passionate, uncompromising and often counter decides to raise the Grillo, a vine austere, until shortly before unknown to most people and only used in the production of Marsala. Some say that the origin of Grillo is Phoenician and that made its appearance in Italy at the beginning of the twentieth century after the invasion of phylloxera finding its ideal environment in the area of Trapani, and who, instead, that the Grillo is present in Sicily in the second half of 1800, when it was used for its production of Marsala wine. In any case, the Grillo is a vine that can give rise to a particularly alcoholic wine of great structure and body , long-lived and voted to oxidation. The voyage of the Grappoli del Grillo by De Bartoli begins in Fornaia Contrada Samperi, in the province of Marsala, with a rigorous manual selection of the grapes and fermentation with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks that begins and ends in French oak barrels where he remained for 12 months and is exploited the technique of batonnage, taking into barrels yeast in suspension. A wine that can guarantee intensely fruity aromas, but always elegant, with a bitter aftertaste, determined and persistent. A Sicilian wine that contains all the values of De Bartoli, a powerful and gentleman who loves his country and that proves it with his production of the highest quality.
